Pantry Doctor: Overnight Oats

Jump To Recipe

Most of us can agree that our days move at lightening speed.  From the time our feet hit the ground in the morning until our head hits the pillow at night, it’s 90 miles an hour with the pedal to the metal.  Not to mention the pressure of trying to fit in healthy meals and gym time to keep our energy levels at peak.  Even though I’m a food blogger and literally spend the majority of my days in my home kitchen making blog food or in the commercial kitchen making cookies, I still struggle with staying on top of food prep to keep meals easy and assessable during crazy work weeks.  I know I’m not alone when I say as soon as I wake up, I’m checking emails on my phone before going straight to the next work task.  Before I know it, it’s approaching 2pm and the only thing I’ve consumed is about 3 cups of coffee and a half gallon of water.  Good news to all you breakfast skippers out there,  I have a friend and fellow small business ladyboss who has created the perfect solution for busy mornings.  Two words…Overnight Oats.

Wendie from The Pantry Doctor is a healthy living blogger and a registered dietitian, helping people reach their health and weight loss goals in an approachable way.  The Produce Before Pills way.  How great is that tagline?  And so true.  It’s a great reminder that if we make simple, nutritional changes to our everyday lives, we can make a big impact over time that can keep us from having to rely on medication.

The Overnight Oats that Wendie offers, provide a healthy start to the day and all you have to do is grab a spoon and open the fridge.  The rolled oats are packed with super foods, nuts, berries and spices to pack a energetic punch to get you going in the morning.  She has six flavors of overnight oats up for grabs in two different styles of packaging that are all affectionately named for the benefits they offer.  Energee includes Spirulina which is a great plant based source of B-12 that is needed to turn the food you eat into…energy.;)  Beautie contains Acai which promotes younger looking skin.  Eat overnight oats and fight wrinkles?  Umm, where do I sign?

Here’s how the overnight oats work:  You open the container before you go to bed, pour your favorite milk in (I love almond milk in mine), shake it and put it in the fridge until the next morning.  When you’re ready to eat the overnight oats, you can put a dollop of yogurt on top or sweeten it with maple syrup or a drizzle of local honey. Simple as that.  Trust me when I tell you, you and your family will love these overnight oats for busy mornings.  Especially as the new school year kicks in mid August.

Wendie is sharing a special shopping code with us today so we can all stock up on breakfast overnight oats for the next few weeks.  Head over to The Pantry Doctor and use code PDOATS15 at checkout.  www.pantrydr.com
